Our Mission
The Women Marines Association was established in Denver, CO, in 1960 to ensure that our history as Marines would continue to be told and passed on to a new generation of Marines. Chapters and members across the nation work on community programs and support our military personnel, our Veterans and their communities. They reach across all areas where there is a need. WMA is a member of the National Marine Corps Council and maintains a liaison with Headquarters Marine Corps. The Women Marines Association is proud to be the only charitable association for and about women Marines. WMA is a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization.

Recent Causes
Food Drive
In December 2021 our chapter collected non-perishable food items. We were able to assist a Veteran and her family with food, and a gift card to assist through the holidays. One of our chapter members went above and beyond to provide financial assistance for gifts and household items that the family was also in need of.

Sanford Flood
In May 2020, the Nation watched as two dams broke in Mid-Michigan. Several towns were impacted as the flood waters washed away homes, businesses, lakes, and rivers. The town of Sanford is home to the Sanford Flag Memorial Monument. This memorial was built and dedicated by the Burgess family in honor of their son, Marine Lance Corporal Ryan Burgess. LCpl Burgess was killed in action in Iraq in 2006. Unfortunately, the dam breakage completely washed the memorial away. In July 2020 our chapter collected bottles and bottle returns to raise money to go towards the rebuild of the memorial. We were able to raise $800 to send to the Ryan Burgess Foundation to be used in the rebuild project. The Sanford Flag Memorial Monument was completed and rededicated in May 2021.
